Facebook Engagement Manager

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking a member of the PALS community (currently trying to conceive, pregnant, or parenting after loss) to volunteer 5-10 hours a week as our Facebook Engagement Manager. This person would be responsible for managing PALS Facebook inbox, responding to comments on our Facebook page, sharing PALS Online Magazine articles in our Facebook support groups, scheduling engagement questions in our Facebook support groups, as well as other possible engagement-related tasks. Position Description:

  • Manage PALS Facebook Inbox
  • Respond to and moderate comments on PALS’ Facebook Page posts
  • Coordinate with staff on post scheduling and management
  • Invite people who engage with PALS Facebook page to “Like” our page
  • Share relevant articles in PALS Facebook support groups
  • Share engagement questions and posts in PALS Facebook support groups, and engaging with the community as they respond.
  • Bonus: Create and edit graphics
  • Other engagement-related tasks as we grow
  • Work with the staff team on other initiatives

Skills:

  • Excellent editing and communication skills
  • Excellent social media skills and willingness to stay up-to-date on the latest Facebook algorithm changes
  • Facebook Page admin knowledge
  • Bonus: Graphic design/Image editing

Other Expectations:

  • Have your own computer with internet 
  • Available to volunteer 5-10 hours a week
  • Available to attend monthly staff meetings
  • Respond to emails within 24 hours
  • Facebook profile so you can be added to the PALS Team Facebook group and communicate through Facebook Messenger
  • Willingness to work on a team and receive direction from the operations director and executive director

Twitter Manager

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking a member of the PALS community (currently trying to conceive, pregnant, or parenting after loss) to volunteer 5-10 hours a week as our Twitter Manager. This person would be responsible for sharing PALS articles, graphics, and other posts on Twitter, managing PALS Twitter inbox, responding to Twitter mentions and replies, re-tweeting PAL-related content, engaging with followers, and other possible Twitter and social media-related tasks. Fill out the volunteer application to be considered. Applications for this position will be accepted through Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Position Description:

  • Schedule and share PALS articles, graphics, and other posts

PALS Ambassador

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking a member of the PALS community (currently trying to conceive, pregnant, or parenting after loss) to volunteer 1-4 hours a month as a PALS Ambassador for our PALS Ambassador Program. This person would be a local/state outreach representative for PALS to help raise awareness about the emotional journey of a mom and dad going through a pregnancy after loss as well as spread awareness of PALS resources. Fill out the volunteer application to be considered.

Position Description:

Required:

  • Be contact person for state representative for PALS
  • Complete all PALS online trainings about our services, the emotional health of the PAL mom and the responsibilities of a PALS Ambassador
  • Table at least one event a year at either a local pregnancy fair or bereavement event.
  • Advocates for PALS and the PAL mom by visiting local providers including hospitals, clinics, maternal mental health and bereavement therapists, perinatal yoga centers, doulas, and perinatal birth professionals including educators and other loss organizations in your area.
  • Keep a list of local loss and PAL related organizations and resources in your area/state.
  • Distributes PALS materials at local organizations focusing on pregnancy and pregnancy loss.
  • Supports local PALS Meet-Up Leaders in outreach for their groups.
  • Reports to Ambassador Coordinator
  • Shares PALS social media outreach campaigns on own social media accounts

Optional:

  • Be a local PALS Meet-Up Leader and run your own meet-up
  • Offer a Fundraising event in your area
  • Works towards getting your state to officially recognize PAL awareness day on March 15th

Skills:

  • Relationship-building and people skills
  • General computer skills–email, document and spreadsheets, etc.
  • Outreach Skills
  • Understanding of PALS services or willing to learn

Bump Day Blogger

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking a Courageous Mama from the PALS community to share her story of pregnancy after loss as a Bump Day Blogger. PALS’ Bump Day Bloggers write weekly updates in real time about their current pregnancy. Fill out the volunteer application to be considered. Make sure to attach a pitch and sample blog post! Applications for this position will be accepted on an as needed basis.

Position Expectations:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A mom who has experienced the death of a child at any age, including miscarriage, stillbirth, infant, toddler, school age, or teen loss.
  • A mom who is currently in the first trimester of being pregnant after a loss.
  • Willing to write a weekly blog post chronicling your journey of pregnancy after loss.
  • Willing to share your subsequent baby’s birth story within a month of birth.

Online Support Group Moderator

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking a member of the PALS community (currently trying to conceive, pregnant, or parenting after loss) to fill Online Support Group/Moderator volunteer positions. These moderators would be responsible for collaborating with a team to maintain the online Facebook support groups through scheduled coverage. Fill out the volunteer application to be considered. Applications for this position will be accepted on an as needed basis.

Position Expectations:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A mom who has experienced the death of a child at any age including, miscarriage, stillbirth, infant, toddler, school age, or teen loss.
  • Should at least be past the 1 year mark into their own grief journey.
  • A mom who is currently TTC, pregnant or parenting their subsequent child in the first year after a loss  or have been through TTC, pregnancy or parenting their subsequent child in the first year after a loss.
  • Add and screen members to group.
  • Review and manage content and disputes among group members.
  • Make time to schedule coverage as lead admin for the week on google calendar and be available to take the lead on admin duties during your scheduled coverage time.
  • Check in with members that display concerning mental health and offer resources to those who need further support than what can be provided in an online support group setting.
  • Contact members that display inappropriate behavior in group and address concerns.
  • Engage with members as needed to help promote and model a supportive group atmosphere.
  • Be available to group members through tagging in group or private messages addressing member concerns in a professional and caring manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other admins to address group concerns and help run a smooth supportive group.

Meet-Up Leader

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is seeking members of the PALS community (currently trying to conceive, pregnant, or parenting after loss) to lead monthly PALS Meet-Ups in their communities. These leaders would be responsible for locating a space to hold monthly meetings, managing the local meet-up email inbox, sharing the meet-up information with local doctors offices/hospitals/community groups, and sharing meet-up event information in the PALS Facebook support groups. Training for this position is offered and required. Fill out the volunteer application to be considered. Applications for this position will be accepted on an as-needed basis.

  • Locate a free meeting space to hold the Meet-Ups in your community
  • Plan and hold monthly PALS Meet-Ups in your community
  • Manage the email inbox for your local Meet-Up, responding to emails within 24-hours
  • Distribute postcards advertising your Meet-Up to doctors offices, hospitals, and relevant community groups
  • Share your Meet-Up events in the PALS Facebook support groups to let the online community know about local events

  • Strong, empathetic communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Basic computer and internet knowledge
