This week has been an exciting one. I had my Level II ultrasound on Friday, and, despite the worrying I managed to squeeze in before the appointment started, I was thrilled to learn that everything looks great.

Baby was kicking and turning and moving around so much that it was difficult to get a good shot of the profile, but this is the best one that the tech could get. I can’t stop looking at it and smiling, so thankful that I get to do this again.

She also asked me if I would like to try to see the gender. I told her I would, but I was pretty sure that it was a girl.

Well, I was wrong. The newest Baby Tully is our fourth boy!  This news was so surprising and exciting that I had to come up with a fun way to tell the rest of my family. I went to the appointment myself, so no one else knew yet. I baked a cake when I got home and put blue frosting between the layers so that they wouldn’t know until they cut into it. Once our older two boys got home from school, my husband cut the cake and everyone joined in the surprise at seeing blue.

So it has been an exciting week, and we are mainly just thankful that our little one appears to be growing and healthy. I felt my first kick from the outside on Tuesday morning, so I’m hopeful that it is just a matter of time before the rest of the family will be able to see and feel some kicks as the baby grows.

Hope. That is what I am feeling this week. Hope that I will make it to the end of this pregnancy and get to meet our baby boy.

Now we only need to come up with yet another boy’s name.

Wishing you all a week full of hope.

With love,
