Just 7 weeks to go and I’m not sure how I feel. Nervous, excited, overwhelmed, and so much more all in one. There is so much that needs to be done in what feels like such a short amount of time. So even though I want the next few weeks to go by super-fast, I also want time to slow down so I can get everything checked off of my to do list.
As my husband had to remind me today: Just Breathe.
It is okay if it doesn’t all get done because the stress on me and on Jelly Bean isn’t worth it. At the end of the day, all that matters is that we are safe and healthy. I can feel myself slowing down with a greater desire to curl up on the couch with a cozy blanket and just relax. The weather has taken a turn towards fall, which certainly supports the start of my nesting this pregnancy. So this weekend, I spent some time relaxing and just breathing. Breathing in calmness and letting out as much of my worry and stress as I could.

I am looking forward to the next few days. First, I have my next prenatal with my midwife tomorrow. My anxiety is much lower than what it was last week, plus I have been feeling some great movement from Jelly Bean, so I am excited to reach and pass another milestone appointment. And then two days later, we have our first nonstress test along with another ultrasound. I’ve never had a NST before, so I’m filled with curiosity about the test and hope it goes well. I’m allowing myself to be open to whatever the test entails and hope that it gives me the extra reassurance I’m looking for. The testing center has indicated that we will likely schedule weekly NST’s for the rest of the pregnancy, so between my prenatal midwife appointments and NST’s, there will be plenty of eyes on Jelly Bean and me to make sure we are healthy and stay healthy.
