Remember a few weeks ago when I wrote this post about not being sure I could buy anything yet?

Well, I don’t know what happened this week, but something changed. I feel ready.

Maybe it was my appointment on Friday where I scheduled a follow-up visit that will include my Rhogam injection and my glucose tolerance test. I feel like those things happen so late in pregnancy. It makes me feel like the end is in sight.

Maybe it’s seeing October on the calendar and knowing that soon, the holidays will be coming in rapid succession and that baby is due in the first week of the new year. Once Halloween comes, it feels like a buckle-your-seatbelt kind of ride to New Year’s Day, doesn’t it?

Anyway, I’m not exactly sure what made me feel better about buying things in the past week, but I’ve been shopping for a new infant car seat (ours is expired), going through the newborn clothes (which is making me nostalgic and incredulous that our boys were ever that little), and searching for a great deal on cloth diapers from an online yard sale site (I am soooo over paying for disposables).

I even dared to take my first belly shot for this pregnancy.

23 weeks – my first belly shot

It’s been kind of fun to let down my guard a little more and plan a bit for this little boy to join our family.   I’ll be 24 weeks tomorrow, which of course is not a great time to deliver, but it’s a big milestone nonetheless.

I’m loving every day I have with my little guy kicking inside me right now.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week!

With love,
